Students grades 10-12 created an acrylic self-portrait inspired by contemporary artist Kehinde Wiley. Students utilized color mixing and color grids, acrylic techniques, and grid drawings to improve accuracy. Students reviewed PowerPoint presentations on Kehinde Wiley and shared their work in a group critique and discussion.

Students grades 12 created an oil portrait inspired by contemporary artist Kehinde Wiley. Students stretched and primed their own canvas. Students utilized color mixing and color grids, acrylic techniques, underpainting, and grid drawings to improve accuracy. Students reviewed PowerPoint presentations on Kehinde Wiley and shared their work in a group critique and discussion.

Students grades 10-12 created develop their skills using colored pencils. They utilized layering, blending, and burnishing the pencils by completing a techniques worksheet. Finally, they demonstrated their skills by creating a Color Wheel Mandala and a Major Project Drawing.

Students grades 10-12 created an anthropomorphic creature with watercolor and ink. Anthropomorphic meaning with human characteristics. Students utilized principles and elements of art including composition, line, pattern, texture, and value.
