WAYNE THIEBAUD INSPIRED CERAMIC  CUPCAKES

6th Grade Art

Students grade 6 created ceramic cupcakes inspired by artist Wayne Thiebaud. Students utilized ceramic techniques including coil, pinch pots, slip and score, and smoothing. Students reviewed clay facts, glazing, and firing.

EYE OF THE DRAGON

6th Grade Art

Students grade 6 created oil pastel drawings of a dragon eye. Students utilized oil pastel drawing techniques and color theory. Students planned and built their own dragons as well as created contour line drawings of their dragon's eye. Students colored their drawings with oil pastel using complementary colors and a minimum of two oil pastel techniques. Students completed a rubric and reflection for assessment.

WAYNE THIEBAUD INSPIRED CHALK AND OIL PASTEL COLLAGE

6th Grade Art

Students grade 6 created oil and chalk pastel collages inspired by artist Wayne Thiebaud. Students utilized oil pastel drawing techniques and color theory to create collaged works. Students completed self-reflection and rubrics for assessment.

ROBOTS

1st - 6th Grade Elementary

Students grades 1-6 created robots under the theme "toys, games, and play."

Students grades 1-2 used wax relief with oil pastel, watercolor, and tissue paper collage backgrounds. 

Students grades 3-4 used marker, silver pencils, and frottage crayon drawing collaged backgrounds.

Students grades 5-6 used felt, thread, and pins to sew their robots.


Students utilized principles and elements of art including composition, shape, line, pattern, texture, and value.
